I'm making a class schedule on a cmsms website.
I'm using CMS 1.6.6, CGCalendar 1.2.3 and CGExtensions 1.17.6.
I can set up a single event and that works just fine; I can see it in the calendar, the link works, etc.
When I change it to Recurs Weekly, I can see it has recognized that in the admin summary panel, but when I go into the event, the selection for recurrence is gone, just the From date and To date remain. The event only shows up only one time in the calendar.
If I make a new event and make it recur from the start, then it shows up in the calendar correctly, although I still can't modify the recurring end dates of frequency.
It seems like changing an existing event to recur should work since the menu permits it, and being able to modify the end date etc. ought to be possible. Is this a known issue? Should I use the 1.2.5?
CGCalendar recurring events
Re: CGCalendar recurring events
I am using CGC 1.5.1 (+ cmsms1.7)and am experiencing an issue with the system and recurring events in relation to custom fields and editing the events
I have just created custom field and added them to my templates - I am having trouble getting them to show in events (NOTE this is not a visual thing - I can get them to show in the template, they are actually not saving in the database)
1. New events: Custom fields only appear in the first event, not the recurring ones. I have 'contact name' and contact number for recurring events - when I set up the event my template will only call tem into the parent event. the recurring (child) events will not take the information, and I have to edit them by hand.
2. Existing recurring events will not save the edits I am making to add in the custom fields on the main and child events.
Has anybody else experienced this?

Re: CGCalendar recurring events
Issue #1 is a known fact.
The custom fields are not replicated to all of the child events... this would take some thought.

Re: CGCalendar recurring events
regarding #2
Using latest and greatest CGCalendar I just created an event that recurred weekly.
Then I turned on the option to 'show child events'
and edited the first child... adding text to the title, summary, detail and custom field inputs.
saved, and edited twice... no problems.

Re: CGCalendar recurring events
Ok Cal, no worries. I'll break the bad news to the girl that's gonna be editing all my child events. If it's possible (amongst your 6.6 million other requests!) to add the ability to edit custom field down to child events to the list of suggestions for the calendar, that'd be great. In the mean time though we'll just edit by hand.
Cheers!

same problem here. i have a file upload custom field for the first event but it does not affect the child eventscalguy1000 wrote: Issue #1 is a known fact.

Re: CGCalendar recurring events
As this been ever solved ? I would really need the custom field file to repeat in all child events...
Re: CGCalendar recurring events
I am getting an estimate on this.
Re: CGCalendar recurring events
I can't afford it right now, but I will at the end of January or sometime in February.
