404 error message on news display page
Re: 404 error message on news display page
Hello st99
Welcome at the CMSMS forum.
Question, what happens if you change the pretty url settings in the config.php to hierarchy false?
Can you please put a copy of your System Information here?
And a copy of the {news} please.
Regards, Rolf

Some things were fixed, they had to do with the pretty/ugly urls. In 1.8.1 this was fixed IIRC. What version are you running.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I am running 1.8.1
I have pretty urls working fine, its just the 404 error for page title on any of the news articles

Could you check your call to the {news} then. It could be that you have set this to point to a page, that doesnt exist. I mean in terms of the {news detailpage="the-pages-alias"}

Re: 404 error message on news display page
It was actually not working from when I installed the news module (before the clean urls) I applied the clean urls to see if it was a possible fix.
Surely the page exists and is being called properly because the content is showing?
Thanks
Andy

OK, and you have a page with the alias "news" that is active?
