Admin menus disappeared

I have searched the forums and google'ed this topic, but haven't found any answer to this issue I am having. We had to move our website from one machine to the other. Everything is up and running except our admin panel. Menus in certain sections have disappeared. Any ideas of what may have happened? (We are on version 1.5.2, which we cannot upgrade to the latest version because of some restrictions).

First check the system information page if it shows anything look for yellow ! or red X, then I would put the 1.5.2 install folder in and run install/ but on STEP 5 UNTICK THE CREATE TABLES AND INSTALL DEFAULT CONTENT ticks, this will regenerate the config.php so all your paths are corrected...

No yellow or reds in system information, and my config.php file is identical to the config.php file on development server (with the exception of the root URL that points to the development address vs production address).

Should I still run the install if that is still the same with the step 5 unticked?

Yes I would run install, make sure you don't have those 2 things ticked or it will remake the DB as if it were a fresh install...
