[solved] can't log in and password not getting mailed

I tried the trick of updating my password via mySQL as per the following article but that did not work

I think I was able to log in initially after the 1.8.1 upgrade but frankly I am not sure.

I do not get any error message nor do I see an error in the error log when I log in, it just gives me the same screen again ...

My request to have a password emailed is not working either, what can I do?

Run install, not upgrade but install, at step 5...

DON'T CREATE TABLES OR INSTALL DEFAULT CONTENT...

This will allow you to make a new password and not destroy your existing install...

If this not work again, investigate with debug enable in config.php

I have not tried either of these solutions yet, but I have a sinking feeling that my PHP is not a high enough version - running 5.2.14, is that OK for version 1.8.1? The FAQ claims that > 5.1.12 is ok ... will work on this problem again soon

I moved to a new host and used the install trick to change the password. Thanks!
