Banners Module Issue

I have installed the latest version of the Banners Module (2.3.5) and I have the CGExtensions (1.19).

I am able to create a category and add banners but when I add it to the page i just get a broken image and when i view the source ont he page to ensure i did in fact add the correct path  this is what i see where the banner is suppose to appear.

Any ideas why it is not picking up any of the information that was inserted in the banners manager?

I have attempted reinstalling it and upgraded to the latest version of cmsms but no such luck resolving ...

works well for me...
I add a image like this:
images/banner1.gif
and it works right away.
