New module: Wish List to integrate with Products

Post by Stom »

I need a new module making. I'm aware that there's a My Favourites module that has similar functionality but it doesn't do everything I need it to do.

I it to integrate with the Products and FEU modules and provide a link to add an item to a wish list. The wish lists are saved and are accessible by both registered and unregistered users. When an item on the wishlist has been purchased it is removed from the list.

Please reply to this thred if you're interested or PM me. I need this work completing quickly; no time wasters please.

It was intended to integrate with Products and FEU. Though I am not sure about the other options you want.

Yeah, it looks like it's partly what I need. Possibly it can be modded to meet the requirements. Are you interested in the work?

I'd love to but you are not going to want me to do it. Not efficient enough in PHP to do it. You may want to try contacting the module author through his website... http://calguy1000.com/rates.html

He is fully capable of it and won't waste your time if you don't waste his :D

I am interested, but how are you wanting to keep track of items bought? For example if both user X and Y have item ABC on their wishlist and then user Z goes and buys item ABC how do you know if he bought it for user X or Y?

The idea would be that wish lists are viewable by anyone provided with a link. Person with wish list sends links to friends. Friends view wishlist. Friends click on item and complete purchase.

I don't know how the technicalities would work, I can only say what I want the user experience to be.

I'm also interrested in a module like my Favourites who could be used with Products and Feu.

For me the problem with MyFavourites is that you could ask for only one exemplaire of item.
If you want to receive 5 of it, it is not possible.

You won't be able to take over the module. It is still actively developed by the same developer. You can gladly make the changed to the module for them, but it MUST be known that those changes can cause any support from the module developer or the CMSMS community to be null.

If you are interested you can try to submit a properly formatted and well executed DIFF file to the module author/developer. If the code won't cause issues and follows his methodology he will likely consider including it with the module.
