[Solved] Is it possble to change settings for how much the admin panel shows

Post by Tapsa2 »

So i'm trying to help out a friend who has the CMSMS installed 1.6.6 "Bonde"
But the adminpanel shows only files after /uploads and i can't get to the root to edit templates, ghange html css etc.
Can i change this setting maybe in config.php ? I do have ftp access.

Sorry for explaining badly but english is just my third language

Thanks.
But i don't seem to find the place to change "File Manager Settings > Advanced mode"
In the adminpanel there isn't even half of the stuff explained here http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/User_Handbook/Admin_Panel

Or wait, could it be that i don't have the Admin account's username and password? But just an account with limited permissions.
Maybe the guy that built this site didn't give the admins username and password to my friend?

That is exactly what I'm thinking.

Is there a "Users and Groups" option tab in the main Admin Panel?

If there is, you should be able to use that to change the permissions.  If not, it sounds like you are operating on a limited account.

Thanks replytomk3 and BAlGaInTl
It seems i'm operating with a very limited account
And no, there is no "Users and groups" Tab.
I guess it's not possible to reset or get the admin username and password, cause i don't have access to the right e-mail.
I will have to ask if my friend (who owns the site) if she can get it from the man who made this site.
Or is there another way?

Yes, there is. Search the forum for "reset admin password"

Okay.
The man who built my friends website was avoiding our friendly question to give us the admin password.
So i had to use the sql query to reset the admin password. Wich worked just fine.
Everything is ok now and i can go do some small changes to my friends website. Small but important changes since she runs a company through her website.

So thank you much for your help replytomk3 and BAlGaInTl

EDIT: Marked this topic [solved]
