Products Module - help with customising for real estate

hi there.

a freshly installed products module on my site is to do with goods and is shop orientated. i would like to know what i need to do for it to be for real estate. i would like to have a search criteria that allows the user to choose the bedroom number, location, maximum monthly rent, type of accommodation (house, apartment, bungalow etc). atm the products module allows 2 criteria to be filled.

is there a guide that can help me customise this? do i need to edit certain files and certain database fields? once i know the basics then i can be on my way.

To allow search by room number, type and so on add custom fields of type 'Dropdown'. Price range is also flexible in search action. Simply open any real estate site and copy hierarchy and custom fields. In addition you can create categories as Sale and New. There are lots of boring work to do but only then you will see what is left.
