SOLVED - SKU in product manager

Morning (or afternoon dep where you are),

I am battling to setup the product manager.  In the product managare there is an entry on products called 'SKU' - I can find no reference as to what this is.  It may be a term understood by US e-commerce, but here in little UK I've not come across it.

can anyone tell me what it is suposed to be for?

It's supposed to be as a "stock code" or stuff like that, not using it with my setup.
