Upgrade 0.10 to 0.11.2

Hi folks,

I have a twofold question here:
1.) Is it necessary to upgrade from 0.10 to the recent version? Were there great changes?
2.) If yes, did anybody encounter any (serious) problems in doing so?

Is there a special upgrade process (as with vBulletin) or do you just upload the new files over the old?

When is the .12 final release being released?
