Site(s) dead after upgrade to 1.7 (Solved)

Post by snowball »

And so , to keep the websites up 2 date I wanted to upgrade a few of my site's today to CMSMS version 1.7

After uploading the files and trying to startup the upgrade process something weard happens, the site cannot be reached anymore.  Logging in to the admin is still possible however there is nothing to see there anymore :-\ Just the cmsms headerimage....

When trying to reach the url  mysite.com/install/upgrade.php a weard page with incompete content shows up, looking trough the source didn't clear things up also... ???

Dowgrading to a previous version didn't solve the problem to...

Is there something in 1.7 different this time whart causes this? I'm running cmsms for a long time never had any issues with upgrading....

Going to sleep over it now and run a backup on a previous version again tomorrow with a new clean database...

Happy easter!

I would loved to do that but the problem is that the whole site, admin and frontend cannot be reached at al...

But I am one step futher, I first deleted the database and removed all content on the server (again), then a fresh new start with a previous version 1.6.6 and how funny that works fine, so I went trough the install process and everything works fine.

So before I do the complete backup I've tried first to upgrade to CMSMS 1.7  and for some reason it will not work the system is dead after that upgrade again... :(

So there has to be something  different in version 1.7 .....never had any troubles with upgrading before...

PHP Version 4.4.7

Changelog for 1.7 -- CMS Made Simple Core
×
Version 1.7 - Cape Verde
-----------------------------
- We now support php 5.3
Note: Minimum PHP Version required is 5.2.4 though we recommend PHP 5.2.12
- Users that are using many of the newer modules that take advantage of PHP 5's OOP features
may experience strange problems when using earlier versions of PHP 5.2. It is therefore
recommended that your PHP version be updated frequently.
Note: We do NOT support E_DEPRECATED or E_STRICT at this time.
Note: We no longer support PHP 4.x
- The installer no longer performs smarty caching
- Improvements to TinYMCE
- Now not depending on admin-theme's icons anymore. Thanks Nuno
- Updated to Tiny 3.3-final
- Added an option to generate cms-compatible thumbnails when uploading files though the filepicker.
- Search 1.6.2
- Adds the detailpage param (can be overriden by modules)
- ModuleManager 1.3.3
- Minor improvements... mostly for PHP 5.3
- Remove the long-deprecated ImageGallery plugin
- Various small bug fixes

Either downgrade or contact your hosting provider immediately how to modify your php.ini or .htaccess to turn on PHP 5.

Okay that solved the problem, thanks so much for that post.

I changed php 5 rule in the htaccess file and everything seems to work fine now! :D

the rule: AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php

Your support was very helpfull!!!
