I've searched all over for this topic. I've found many references on how to use CMSMS to managed multiple websites on the same domain, which is a great feature that I will be using in the future to consolidate a couple of personal websites but doesn't help me with what I need to do now.

I am developing different websites for different clients with different hosts and love CMSMS, but, short of setting up different user instances on my WindowsPC, don't see a simple way to create separate websites, other than trying to hack the directory structure into different 'projects' and which I see as a nightmare to maintain.
I found a post from early 2007 that said "1 CMSMS install, one website", but that's the only mention of this topic I've found anywhere. Is the cleanest way to do this, separate users on a WinPC?

Correct me if I am wrong. You will have many domain names right?
Then create as many folders as you want on your server, with an install of cmsms in each one. Each different domain name will be pointing to a different folder.
Other than that, it is much harder to do. It is somewhat doable to do subdomains, but other than that CMSMS was not designed with one installation running several websites.

You are correct that I will have many domains, on many different hosting services, even. What I didn't say in my original post is that I am developing under the Local PC install method.
I've installed a second copy of support files via XAMPP in a new directory structure, and then installed CMSMS there too. The problem is I can't find out how to move localhost/ look at the new directory structure.

you can export your Theme ind import it to the new installation - take a look at "ThemeManager" . I didn't use it by myself yet, but it should help you doing it very easy.
