current menu style for main menu disappears when I click on sub menu

Hi

Link below of the site I am developing:

When I click on a submenu page the top menu current tab disappears??

Also I would really like the user to be directed to the first page in the sub category ie:

When the user clicks on dance nights on the main top nav they will be directed to Monday rather than a generic page which I am struggling for content, its also an extra click that the user doesnt have to do.

Hope this makes sense as I dont know how to do it and have been searching the forums but cant come up with anything.
