How to Change the Font in the CSSMenu left + 1 column template

Post by mgessner »

Hi,

I'm using the standard CSSMenu left + 1 column template and would like to know how to change (reduce)
the font size of the menu items?

I would also like to reduce the width of the menu box.

I'm using CMS Made Simple  1.5.4 "Carolina"

I would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks

Martin

First 1.5.4 is not supported and is vulnerable!

Second have you tried to edit the css at all????

Thanks for your reply.

Have you tried to edit the CSS?

I know basic CSS but am not an expert.
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction without having to try and
edit the CSS without knowing which style is applying to the font in the menu.

Hi Martin,

Really the best way is to play around. As long as you make a copy you can't do any harm and you will learn as a result. I don't use the template you're referring to hence can't offer specific advice. Within the Templates view (Layout: Templates), select the CSS link for the one you refer to. This will tell you what CSS files are linked to it. Have a look through whichever looks most likely and look for what could be right. Change something, apply it, refresh and see what happens. Only change one thing at a time.

Typically you'll either see things expressed a em or px in relation to size. If em is new to you, just look it up on the internet...there's loads of stuff explaining it. It would be worth you getting a book on CSS too...and it'll be a much easier route to follow that using the w3schools web site!

Play around, make some mistakes but I can asure you you will get there!

Good luck,

Richard
