relationship between pages and menu

Post by bruco »

I'm new to CMS Made Simple.
I have made some little edits, and I have realized that when a new page is created a corresponding item is inserted in the navigation menu.
Is it possible to create a page without that it appears in the navigation menu?
Moreover, the mnu manager in the example site is empty, and I am not able to understand how to fill the "template content" box. Where can I find information about the scope and the use of menu manager?
Is there another example site where can I make some more practice?
Thanks

1. yes. look at the "options" tab when you're editing a page's content. you'll see something like a 'show in menu' checkbox

2. the "file" menu templates aren't editable. but you can make a "copy" of them, then they become "database" (stored in the database vs a file) templates which can be looked at and edited. the menus rely heavily on css, otherwise they'd just show up as an ordinary list.
eternity (n); 1. infinite time, 2. a seemingly long or endless time, 3. the length of time it takes a frozen pizza to cook when you're starving.
4,930,000,000 (n); 1. a very large number, 2. the approximate world population in 1986 when Microsoft Corp issued its IPO. 3. Microsoft's net profit (USD) for the quarter (3 months) ending 31 March 2007.
