Sitemap made simple - xml file not right

HI

I'm using sitemap made simple to generate a google xml site map ...

However - it first of all doesn't seem to be updating ... second the paths aren't using the friendly urls the site has

so insurance should be /insurance.html  NOT index.php/insurance

Any clues what setting I might have missed ?
