[SOLVED] moving to a new server - can't login to admin

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[SOLVED] moving to a new server - can't login to admin

Post by AmandaBTO »

I've moved cmsms a million times from a dev server to production server.  It's not working this time.  I have no idea why and I'm getting bombarded with calls and email and txts about when this site is going to be live.

cmsms 1.6.6
When I go to /admin and login, it takes me back to /admin
No error msg, no nothing
Forgot your password doesn't send an email, just goes back to /admin with no msg
Front end is fine

I also tried a fresh install and with help from the sys admin guy made sure basedir has no value and everything else is set up "properly"

I've turned on debugging (attached) and it looks fine.  The only potentially weird thing is "No session found.  Now check for cookies" even though sys admin guy say I've got write access to the session dir

No, unfortunately I can't share the url with anyone because this company is launching a whole new branding thing tomorrow (hence the urgency).  Another weird thing is that the sys admin guy has a redirect from www.site.com to site.com.  I don't know why.  It was apparently requested.  I've made sure the config root_url only has http://site.com

Any suggestions?!?
I need help please!!!
Amanda

update:
Oh I'm working way too much.  Once I found out the sys admin guy had that www -> non www I updated the config but forgot to save it before ftp-ing it again.  I'm working too many hours *embarrassed*

Let this be a lesson to everyone: proper config values are your friend!
