CMSmailer issue with smtp server

Post by jimbowes »

Hi there,

I use CMSMS with NMS to send newsletters. My host has a 300 email per hour limit and so I've taken out a dedicated SMTP service with authsmtp (www.authsmtp.com).

I've added the details to CMSMailer, registered the email address with authsmtp and tried to send various test emails - however I'm unable to get it to work.

I've contacted support at both my webhost and authsmtp both have said everything is fine from their side and that it must be the app.

However I've previously used CMSmailer/modules that use it with by my hosts mailserver, sendmail and another third party host smtp server (although that no longer seems to work either).

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue?

Thanks a lot.

Jim

Here's what the web host said:

Because the server is able to communicate with the remote mailserver, as exemplified by the telnet test, this is either an issue with the script you are using, or the remote mailserver.

We've checked everything on our end, and everything is configured correctly to be able to communicate with the other mailserver.

You can set NMS to run 300 at a time and do them in batches every 1.25 hours...
