Can't Add Group in "Fronted User" module

Post by pudd »

Hello!
Got a problem.
I have installed "Frontend User" module and wanted to add group(s) but there is no link for it the only two links I got is:
"add properties" & "Import Group" (with an xml file). Shouldn't it be a button/link for just add groups or do I need a xml to import one? If yes how does the xml file look like?

I use CMSMS in safe mode also if that does any different. Everything else works though on the script except pretty URLs so I hope that wont be any problem.

Hope someone can help me.

Regards

We do NOT support safe mode... so therefore you are using the system in an unsupportable configuration.  Please ensure that you remove safe mode (talk to your host, find a different host...) before posting again.

Please post system information from "Extensions >> System Information" (there is a bbcode option) on all posts asking for assistance.

If you can't bother explaining your problem well, you shouldn't expect much in the way of assistance.

I don't find the answer....

The only thing I find about groups is:
How do I use it
After installation you can access admin panel to the FrontEndUsers module under the "Users & gGroups" menu.

Secondly, you should define properties. Properties are essentially field definitions, here you specify the type of information you want to gather, and limits. i.e: Name, Age, City, State, Country, Email address, etc.

Note: You do not need to define properties for username and password, these will be provided for you

Next you should create one or more user groups. When you create a group, you are asked for a group name, a description and to associate properties with that group, specify the properties sort order, and wether it is an optional, required, or hidden field (off is also valid)

Note: Before proceeding, you should ensure that the preferences are set correctly.
And about the specify the type of information, I don't find where I can choose or insert Age, City, State etc.. Just some field where I should specify minimum password length and some other stuff nothing about what kind of information I want to gather when someone register..

But first I want to find out how to create groups.

PS. I have now istalled CMSMS on a server where SAFE MODE IS OFF.

H
Hope someone can help me:)

SO, FIRST, you need to specify properties (Age, City, State, etc.).  This is on the Properties tab.  THEN, after at least one Property is created, you can create Groups.  Each Group requires at least one Property (in addition to username/password that are automatically created behind the scenes), so you must create Properties before Groups.
