[solved] TinyMCE WYSIWYG Issues

Post by fivepix »

I just recently upgraded to 1.6.6 "Bonde" but now the TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor does not appear when I try to edit the content pages.

I’ve search the forum but have not found an answerer. I’ve check the release notes it states the following:
7) TinyMCE

TinyMCE has had some serious enhancements as well.  However, those enhancements make it so that on an upgrade you may not see the TinyMCE editor in your content pages, or various frontend forms.  To resolve this problem, you may need to uninstall the TinyMCE module (in Extensions >> Modules) and re-install it, then reset the settings.
I’ve tried this but no luck, is there anything else I can do to fix this?

Is the editor not appearing, or just the controls? The difference is if it still shows the content in WYSIWYG fashion, or if it shows HTML.

@fivepix,

I had the same problem last week, and fixed it by changing the permission of the module. The solution was on the CMSMS wiki:

http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... es/TinyMCE

That did the trick for me!

Yes I saw a similar post i did change the permission to 755 but still having the same issue.  I'll try again in case there is something on the server side?
