It sounds funny starting a topic with [SOLVED] in the subject, but I was able to solve my issue before I could start a topic, and I thought I would share.
I upgraded my personal site from 1.5.4 to 1.6.6 a few days ago.. Everything seemed to be OK, except that the toolbars were missing from the TinyMCE windows when editing content. The content was still displaying in WYSIWYG fashion, and I was able to edit text, but if I needed a fancy feature, I would have to click off the "WYSIWYG" checkbox at the bottom and enter the HTML.
I had solved the issue by going to Extensions -> TinyMCE and clicking "Restore Defaults" in all of the tabs.. All the settings looked normal.. The only setting I changed in my previous install was the textarea width. Anyways, after resetting the defaults everything came back.
I hope that's the only issue. Is 1.5.4 -> 1.6.6 a "longshot" upgrade?

Re: [SOLVED] TinyMCE toolbars missing after upgrading to 1.6.6 "Bonde"
That is not a long shot upgrade...
When upgrading if you would have read the release notes especially #7 you wouldn't have had to post anything here, or done a search of the forum as this has been mention numerous times...

Where would these release notes be? In the downloads section, I see a change log, but no release notes.

When upgrading it is one of the first pages you see and you have to scroll down to read them all, or you can look in the unpacked cmsms folder on your computer in the install folder it's called releasenotes.txt...
