Forum Made Simple issue 0.9.3

Post by irish »

I downloaded the Forum-0.9.3.tar.gz and put it into my module folder but then I receive this on both the frontend and backend of the website:

"Could not get instance of required module: FrontEndUsers"

I removed the Forum folder and all was fine again.

Hi,

Have the same problem however the fix in this thread doesn't help. Ran into the problem, consulted this forum, installed Treemanager but no luck. CMS hangs and is displaying the same message "Could not get instance of required module: FrontEndUsers".
Is there any other dependency that anyone knows of?

Hi Rolf,

That's exactly the problem because that's what I'm trying to achieve! The problem starts after installing 0.9.3. The module list of my previous message is from after a roll back. What is puzzling me is that the information when clicked on community help from version 0.9.2 it shows functionality which is not available in this 0.9.2 version so I suspect that that's part of 0.9.3. but at the same tooken this appears to be also misleading and not very consistant. As you know I'm fairly new to CMSMS but this bit really disappoints me. Appears to me as lack of administrative discipline and is very time consuming for nothing! On the other hand I'm just happy that my calls for help are being responded so I will be restless awaiting for a fix to this problem and learn what this 0.9.3 module has to bring. My main purpose for switching to CMSMS was that at first instance it appeared to me as solid framework but thusfar the experience is sadly the opposite. Don't get me wrong, I still like what it seems to offer me as a solution but it would be nice to get my hands on the extra bits. I'm just looking forward to all what I would like to achieve done within one environment, that's all.

Best,

gdur

But if you missed that, just remove the "Forum" folder from your "Modules" folder (don't forget to backup it !), then install "TreeManager", and put back the "Forum" folder.
No need to remove it, just rename it
