Hey everyone,
I've been using CMSMS for years in various projects I've done for clients, and it really is amazing software. About a year ago I had a university project which was to develop a website or web application, pretty open to anything. I chose to have a go at completely revamping the TinyMCE interface, using only themes and plugins, so no changing of the actual source code.
Here's my planning document, including usability thoughts (22 pages, probably the best thing I wrote while at uni):

And before you get bored, here's the link of how far I got (maybe alpha quality? See browser compatibility notes below):

Like I said, this project was about a year ago. Stumbled on it again today and remembered how much fun it was, and how useful it would be to integrate into CMSMS. I think it's time to open it up for others to look at / give ideas / help code.
So, is anyone interested?
* In using it?
* In brainstorming?
* Getting seemingly non-techie people to try it out and letting me know what worked and what didn't?
* Perhaps even in helping code it?
If there's some interest I might create a sourceforge project or something to host it. Just wanting to guage what people think

Jason
A few notes
* Browser compatibility: To be honest, at the moment, you're best in Firefox. It'll sort of work in most other browsers (a bit), but if a feature does work at all, it works in firefox. I designed it to work across browsers, but alot of the features I haven't made work properly yet. I've learned alot about javascript in the last year though so if I go back I might have more luck. The version running on my homeserver at the moment even works in IE6(!) Having trouble uploading it though...
* You'll notice the interface uses alot of space. It's definately more for a CMS or Document Editor where you're editing whole pages than it is for posting small blog comments etc.
* The idea is that most things which create dialogue boxes will end up using the panel to the side, so as not to block you from editing the document. You can see an example in the Find/Replace dialogue (again, won't work in IE).
