Something very strange is going on...

Post by Hannibal »

When I go to edit News posts, the Submit/Cancel/Apply buttons do not appear at the foot of the page (see image)

http://www.fbtvonline.co.uk/uploads/images/cms-error.png. EDIT: the image is too big for the forum, see link instead

Also, when I go to Module Manager, I am unable to access Available Modules or Preferences, nothing happens at all when I click on them

http://www.fbtvonline.co.uk/uploads/images/cms-error-2.png

I recently had some problems in upgrading to 1.6.6, so I imagine that this is the cause. Can I just re-uploads the upgrade files to get this fixed? Or is it better to wait until 2.0 is released?

Hey Hannibal
When I go to edit News posts, the Submit/Cancel/Apply buttons do not appear at the foot of the page
Might be a problem with file uploads...
When uploading the files, did you do a checksum?

And when you look in the admin at the System Information page, are there any yellow ! or red X?
Perhaps put a copy of the SI here.

Try to increase these values, sometimes when they are to low you get strange things...

Change in the config.php:
$config['php_memory_limit'] = '64M';

Add to the config.php:
ini_set('max_execution_time', 60);

Try to set debug on in the config.php.
Any errors there?

But you can always try to upload the 1.6.6 files again, you never know if some file went overboard...
No need to do an install or upgrade. But a backup is always good.

Right, try to contact your webhost! It seems something is wrong there...

I had the same problem, right after upgrading to 1.6.6. The solution: Manually clearing the browser cache. The News edit page relies on a javascript, and your browser caches the old JS.

At least that was the case with my installation.

Tired it on a couple of different computers with no luck I'm afraid. Just backing up the files and will re-upload the CMS files. Joy

Use FileZilla and don't use wifi, just a oldfashioned cable does the trick  ;)

Right, I re-uploaded the 1.6.6-full files, and went into the first step of the upgrade to run a checksum, and I got loads of errors. I also have the "Site down for maintenance" message on my home page. When I log into the admin interface I am still missing the Submit/Cancel/Apply buttons.

This is starting to drive me crazy, does anyone have any ideas what's going on?  ???

Hi Hannibal

Yesterday evening I got your site fully working again.

Did some more work on your website just now:
- Uploaded a new full 1.6.6
- Deleted .htaccess in /images and /uploads
- Increased max_execution_time
- Tried debug on:
Debug wrote: The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

I think you better contact your webhost first and ask him to look in the php_errorlog for more information on this.

Grtz. Rolf
