Module install help

Post by ralphhos »

Hi all,

Having a few issues. Firstly, when I go to Extensions - Modules, I am getting a "ERROR: The CGExtensions module could not be found." Does anyone know why this is? I tried installing the CGExtensions module but it wouldn't install.

The main problem I'm having though is installation of new modules. I would like the FrontEndUsers module for the website but each time I 'Install' it from the Extensions - Module Manager, it just completely ignores it and comes back with a blank screen. Same thing happens when I try the CGExtensions as above. When I try downloading the tar file, unzipping it and installing it to the modules folder of the server, the backend just goes completely blank! I'm using version 1.6.4 and everything else seems to be working fine.

Thanks for any help to shed light on my problems!

Ralph.

No, try downloading the xml file of the module from the Forge, and installing it (the option to install from xml is on the bottom of the modules list page). This takes care of many problems.

Do not manually uncompress files to /modules directory. Module installation requires writing to the database.

It depends on CGExtensions version you are trying to install. Version CGExtensions-1.17.4 and up requires CMSms 1.6.5+
