Hi!
After I upgraded to 1.6.6 (full), the checksum doesn't match for a lot of files (>100). This is how I upgraded:
- extracted files from archive locally, then uploaded via ftp (tried both Filezilla and WinSCP), overwriting existing files
- opened /install and checked checksum with cmsmadesimple-1.6.6-full-checksum.dat
After the checksum test failed, I tried to upload a single file whose checksum was wrong (modules/ModuleManager/lang/ext/hu_HU.php) separately and see if the checksum of this file is correct then - but when I open the installer, the checksum of this file still fails! The file was uploaded correctly: I downloaded the file again and compared its md5 hash to the original one from the distribution which was a match.
If I put the files in a zip on the server and then extract it remotely, checksums match, but that way I can't overwrite files that already exist (don't have a real shell on the server, just some hoster made tool to extract zips).
What I tried as a workaround is to first save the old files from the server on my local computer, unzip the new version's archive remotely in an empty directory and then upload the old files there, not overwriting any files. But this doesn't seem to work, the checksum is ok however the install routine asks me to choose an admin account and password, which I think it shouldn't had it realized I just want to upgrade?
Hope someone can help me out here because I'm lacking ideas now. Thanks!
Joerg
problem with uploading / checksum
Re: problem with uploading / checksum
I would backup properly as described in my signature, then delete all files from host, and then upload the zip file and etxract it. And not even bother with an update.
Re: problem with uploading / checksum
I was thinking about doing that, but I wasn't sure if there are changes in the database structure from 1.5.x to 1.6.6 and that may cause (possibly not instantly visible) problems when instead of going through the upgrade process just doing a clean install and importing tables from the old version one-to-one. So it should work fine?
Re: problem with uploading / checksum
Backup current database and other things like my website says.
Install old version on xampp.
Import your database.
Upgrade cmsms on xampp
Backup new database
install new version on server
import new database (upgraded)

Hi Joerg,
Do you have a problem on the site after upgrading in the first place?
This hasn't be a problem for me at all!
When there are files missing or non-language files fail checksum, then there might be a problem.
Use for the upload FileZilla and don't use wifi, the 'cable' is the best way.
And like replytomk3 said, always backup files and database first!

When uploading the unzipped files to the server for an upgrade, checksum will fail on (almost) all language-files (like hu_HU.php).joerg wrote: After I upgraded to 1.6.6 (full), the checksum doesn't match for a lot of files (>100). This is how I upgraded:
