[SOLVED] Help!

I tried upgrading my CMSms from 1.4.1 to 1.6.6 yesterday, but it seems to have broken my site. I initially used Transmit to FTP the upgrade files to my server, but due to it's ridiculous default settings, it overwrote all my folders instead of merging them. So I then tried to upload my backup files, and performed the upgrade again. It all seemed to work but for some reason all the images on my site are now not showing up. They're still on my server in the correct folder structure, but I think the folder permissions have got messed up at some point.

Any ideas how I can fix this??

Hi Hannibal,

Try to rename the .htaccess files in the related Image folders in to htaccess.txt first.
I think that will solve your problem.

Thanks Rolf (and sorry for using the wrong forum!)

I've renamed 2 .htaccess files (in /images and /uploads) but still no joy I'm afraid. My file permissions look very odd (600s and 700s for the most part), is there an easy way to reset them to what they should be?

Folder are often set to 755 and files to 644.
You can use FileManager, your FTP-program, etc. for this

Yeah, that was what I though. Is there an easy way to set this (a script or something?) or will I have to go through the whole thing and set each file individually?

You can use the option "Recursively".
Set a folder including files to 644 and later on set the folder alone to 755.
Shouldn't be a big job this way
