TinyMCE WYSIWYG has disapeared
Which I thought was odd.
Client has had the site for a year without problem, now they call me and say the editor has disapeared, very odd. Has anyone any idea of how or why this could happen - or a fix!
When I say 'disapear' I mean it just doesn't appear next to the editor windo
w, I only get HTML however many times I click the checkbox.
cheers all, appreciate the help.

Well I'm sorry - I did search but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for, maybe if you cold have pointed me in the direction of what to search for it would have helped.

Some people have trouble with tiny not showing up upon installation or upgrading. Here is a checklist of things you can try before contacting me for further support.
* 1. Please, please, try to reupload the modules/TinyMCE dir to your server. You'd be amazed how many times this has helped people.
* 2. Try to switch on the Static Config option. Note that this requires your /tmp/-dir to be writable by the webserver
* 3. If upgrading, please try to reset all settings. Not nice if you've done a lot of customization, I know, but a lot of things changes from 2.3.x to 2.4.x series of the module.
* 4. Try enabling the static config option in advanced settings. This works better on some systems (like CGI-based)

Re: TinyMCE WYSIWYG has disapeared
Hi there - thanks very much for the pointers.
Unfortunatley none of those options have worked. the site hasn't been updated, or even touched for around 10 months, I am reallly at a loss to see how this could even have happened!
MCE control panel under extensions : (where the editor also doe not turn up )

Editing a page with MCE box ticked:

and without:

I'd love to blame the client but they don\t have any sort of FTP access to the site!!
Oh I can't see any JS errors or anything similar either.
Any ideas?
thanks all

Re: TinyMCE WYSIWYG has disapeared
Try to chmod the folder modules/TinyMCE/ to 775 or 777

Hi there - no joy either I'm afraid, file permissions look like:

the files inside are much more varied in their permissions however - is this possibly an issue?

Thanks again for your help here!

Hi Rolf - I'd appreciate it, dropping you an email now.
Re: TinyMCE WYSIWYG has disapeared
hmm, got access to your admin.
First thing I did - the easiest way - was setting a static config file in the advanced tab.
And what do you think... Yep, it worked.
pfff.
Rolf
