Images not displaying in IE (solved)

Post by twwitt »

Can anyone help me find out what's going on? I've done a number of CMSMS sites, but haven't run across this problem before.
Am using version 1.65.

See page: http://s299905166.onlinehome.us/

The three photos down the right-hand side seem to show up fine in Firefox, Opera and Chrome, but NOT in IE6 or IE7 (they're X-out as though IE can't find the images). The background image (within the banner) shows up fine in all browsers.

It seems to me that the path information is correct. Is this just a stupid IE problem? If so, why haven't I had it in other sites I've designed?

It is not an issue that is caused by your website, because if i call an image directly, it shows up in Firefox, but not in IE (also IE8)

My guess it is the picture itself. When I load it in Photoshop, it looks like it is in CMYK format, while RGB is more custom. Perhaps IE can't handle that?

Yes you've right about that Jos. I have encountered this problem and there are lots of blogs about it.

MSIE 7 does not render web pages properly, so anyone viewing your site and having issues will need to either upgrade to MSIE 8 or use Firefox / Opera or a Zilla type browser capable of proper rendering.
