Convert site from Joomla

Post by saltydog »

Is there any tool available to convert a Joomla site into a CMS MS framework?

I would avoid to rebuild everything, but I will love to continue using CMSMS for my web development.

IF it's less than 10 pages. I would do it manually

to fix something after an automatism takes more time

it is so easy:

you take the HTML-code from the Joomla-Posts and enter that in the HTML-box of the CMSMS-editor and you have a raw version ;=)

The problem with Joomla is that is is not (or was not) UTF-8, that you have no real hierarchy of the pages and that the modules are very special...

so the main work would be:

1. define a new structure of the page
2. Identify the modules you need for the existing functionality in Joomla
3. copy and paste content
4. define the template for CMSMS
5. finetuning  everything

the automatic take-over will be the smallest chunk;=)

I think you are right. It will be better to go by hand :-)

Thank you

Is there not a module available for this, would really help CMSMS to secure its position, I guess there is not too much work involved to import data from Joomla Content to CMSMS

IIRC there is one to strip a site but nothing to pull it from a DB, all CMS have their own naming convention so to try and make a module to pull from one DB into another would be impossible...

You may look for bulk import module...
