Group Calendar Events by Day

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to show all of a day's events in one group in the upcoming list on the Calendar module. Basically, I would like the list to show the date only once for the day, and then list all the events that occur on that day as entered in the Calendar. I'm sorry this is difficult to explain. What I'm trying to achieve:

November 3
10:00am Meeting
11:00am Meeting 2

November 4
12:00pm Lunch Meeting
etc.

Can anybody tell me the changes needed in the upcominglist template so that I can make this happen?
