0.12beta2: editing a page changes its alias

Post by martin42 »

When I update a page in FckEditor, the page alias is renamed to lower-case only.

Example:  page=AboutUs_Constitution becomes page=aboutus_constitution

On a live site, this would cause lots of broken links from search engines, and from any active users with a cached copy of the menu.

It's more of an issue that the alias should not be rewritten during an edit...

This could take some work to fix properly.

Thanks chaps!

My 2 cents worth is that forcing the alias to lower case is probably unhelpful in any case:  if you accidentally deleted or renamed a page, you couldn't then rename it back.  So any links to that page would break.

Cheers,

- Martin.
