[solved]admin console messed up

Post by Tracy »

I have just run into a problem when I tried to install the Products module from the Module Manager. All of a sudden the whole admin console is messed up looking like its lost its related css?? Does anyone know why this would happen? I can't get it to go back to normal after logging out and rebooting its still the same!

CMS version 1.6.5

Thankyou so much for your reply. I tried to do that and permission was denied. I'm in the middle of upgrading to 1.6.6 I don't know that it will help but thought I would try?? I will keep you posted and maybe you could help me again if it doesn't. Thanks :'(

By the way, why wouldn't I have permission to delete it this way?

I can help live. check PM.

Check ftp file permissions. Also, what is the exact message that you get and where.

Thanks for the PM, I'm uploading files right now so I will just wait on that. I didn't actually get any error message in the admin console, the menu was just listed vertically and the page background was all white and I couldn't really do anything it it except log out it seemed.

I'm not sure what the full error message in the ftp was but it did say I couldn't delete and permission was denied. I hope I don't make things worse by upgrading.

Oh no, I've finished installing the upgrade and went to my install page and It looked like it worked with the /install/upgrade.php page then when I clicked the submit button I got this error message -

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Products in /home/advanced/public_html/modules/Products/Products.module.php on line 900
I don't know what to do!

Send me the admin login info. I will take a look at the products module. Are you actively using the module?

Thankyou so much replytomk3 for spending the time / going out of your way to look into my mess up. Once the host changed the owner permissions which you suggested, I was able to delete the last module installed which was the Products module. The admin console went back to normal after that. Now although I thought I wanted to use it I'm afraid to try it again - even though I have been successful using it in another instance of CMSMS on another server.
