CSS and Themes lost on upgrade from 1.5.x to 1.6.3

Hi,

I had a zencart install that was hacked on the server that had a 1.5.x version of cmsms.  After changing every password I could find, I found some unauthorized iframes inserted into the cmsms and decided it was best to delete everything in install all fresh files.  Why not upgrade versions at the same time, right?  

Well, I've lost all my css and templates now.  Attempting to install any theme that already existed results in a "that theme is already installed" error -- though no themes other than the defaults show up in "theme manager".  The default themes don't work (everything is displayed in-line -- and the menu displays as a standard ul with bullet points and all...).  Attempting to install a new theme results in an error "Error importing theme..." then it shows the contents of the xml file.  While attempting to install new themes that were not previously installed show up in the "Template manager" and "theme manager", they don't work.  I've tried 3 so far, so I don't think it could be just a bad xml theme template...

I also have this warning under my "unhandled notifications"

That "Start Upgrade Process" link returns 404 "Not Found" and I just did an upgrade to the CMS Made Simple 1.6.6 "Bonde" or so it says at the bottom of the page...

I've cleared the tmp/cache files (I found a thread on that while searching these forums) ... but no luck...

How can I get any css or templates back?

I found a thread called "Text only after upgrade" or something similar with someone who had permissions issues on their css file.  I don't even see my css file being referenced in the source.  Also, they posted their link, so I hope it's ok to post mine,

If you PM or email me the database I can do a quick test on xampp and tell you if it works.

The stylesheets, have they been attached to your html template?
Layout >> Templates >> CSS (Attach Stylesheets)
