Please clarify sitemap options for me (and all! :)

Hello enthusiasts!

So I've gone through all the posts I could find re the sitemapms module and http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/gsgenerator and really only came across unanswered questions... and a lot were a couple of years old, so not sure if they're still relevant to today.

As a real novice, here are my questions;
1. what is the difference (advantages/disadvantages) between using the sitemapms module and the gsgenerator?

2. a) If I should use the sitemapms module, and add the {sitemap} tag into www.wakevents.com.au/sitemap.html, where do I go to edit the styles of the listing?
  b) When I select 'Show hidden pages in the sitemap' it updates the xml file but not sitemap.html page

3. If I should use the gsgenerator, how do I create a www.wakevents.com.au/sitemap.html page for users to navigate to that will update automatically?
