Looking good!

A couple of things I've noticed from an evening's use:
'remove html blobs' should be renamed to 'remove global content blocks' on the group permissions page.
Also the cms self-link popup doesn't close when I click OK in fckeditor.

Thanks for that.  The Remove GCB thing is a bug in the upgrade script.  It's fixed in svn.

I've confirmed the FCK thing, but it's not apparent to me why it's not working.  Looking into it now.

Not at all, thank you! :)

Also I can't seem to get the metadata box on the page options to do anything. I've never used it before so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I just tested it on an older (0.10 i think? it's called 'header tags') installation and it worked as expected.

It doesn't act like headers tags did (which was hackish).  You need a {metadata} tag in your now.  A little more work, but much less problems.  Also, there is global metadata (set in Global Settings) as well as per page.  The {metadata} tag will combine them together.
