SOLVED: Error on homepage

One of the CMSMS sites I've created is suddenly coming up with a strange error - the site itself has been up nearly a year with no issues.

When I visit the domain, it comes up with the custom 404 message I entered on the global settings, which includes a direct link to the home page. If I click it, the domain address with "index.php?page=home" takes me to a working home page, but the domain itself gives the 404 error.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Have you already checked of the default page is changed in the pagelist, to another page as 'home' ?
One page which is inactive...
