I just made my first site in CMSMS and I've chosen CMSMS because of it's user friendliness for the site developer/designer, but when I showed it to the guy who will edit the site's content he became frightened because of the complex admin user interface.
Is it possible to make a much more simplified admin UI for the editors? Nothing else is needed, just admin/listcontent.php
I saw there are possibilities using admin themes but I don't know how they work.
how to make a simplified admin UI for Editors
Re: how to make a simplified admin UI for Editors
Turning off various permissions will reduce the number of menu items in the panel. If this is the only user in the editor group, I would go into that group's permissions and just turn off everything except for Modify All Content. Or make a new group for that user and do the same.
While it won't get rid of everything, it should reduce it enough to not be quite as scary.

I have the same thoughts as zsero. I chose cmsms for the same reasons but I'm not sure it will be simple enough for the intended users.
I was thinking that it would be grate if editing could be made from the front end. Orn not the frontend, but linked from the front end. Say that a user logs in and then redirects to the front page. When surfing around the site any page that he has permission to modify should then get a small modify link in the top that leads to the back end modification of exactly that page. Or maybe a small menu with Modify, remove, add children etc, could be shown. It's an idea, but maybe difficult to implement.

Wasn't there a tag for this purpose already? I don't know if it only shows for permitted users though, as the frontend does not keep a session.
