Upgrade from old version

Post by stevo »

Existing site is at cmsms version 1.1 - Could anyone point me in the right direction to upgrade to the latest version of cmsms from v1.1.

Within a few weeks the hosting provider for the site will be upgrading the mysql version from 4.x to 5.x. Don't know how cmsms will deal with this but I would like to upgrade anyway. Any help, tips would be appreciated.

Best way is likely step by step perhaps like

--->1.2.5--->1.3.1--->1.4.1--->1.5.4--->latest

skipping versions might be possible but more risky, and all that after following the usual procedure of backing up, etc. Verify the state of your site after each step. Read all the documentation as well http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... /Upgrading and other pages

And regarding php 5, as of right now 5.3.0 is not supported, 5.2.10 is the latest before that.

My advice is to backup data, test install on subfolder/xampp, and go straight to the newest version. see my signature or other posts.
