[SOLVED] Access localhost from outside - not loading images and css

Hi,

I have cmsms correctly configurated on my lan with a MAMP server; homepage's url is http://localhost:9888/cmsmadesimple/
If I try to access from outside (firewall port 9888 forwarded correctly) as http://my-public-ip:9888/cmsmadesimple it loads only the text without images and css.

Any clues?

you are not accessing http://localhost:9888/cmsmadesimple/  from outside - so your config is set up wrong

Ok, now I've set up config.php with external ip. And seems working.

Hi,
It's all pretty new to me and I'm having the same problem.
How do you set up your config.php for an external ip?

I run CMSMS on a mac OSX 10.6 machine without any problems (it is indeed 'made simple'). When I try to acces the site on another machine in the company network, I just get a plain page without css styles (the HTML source states http://localhost/cmsms/... )How do you change this?

Check your outside IP, and use that in the config.php, whereever localhost is standing....

Thanks for the guide RonnyK.

I adjusted the ip adres to the one I found in my system prefs. When I enter the ipadres in both host machine and external machine I get an acces denied page. Host "IPADRES" has no acces to the MYSQL database.

What am I doing wrong?

This is not a CMSMS problem it's a host/router/server configuration issue.
