[SOLVED] Installation error: Fatal Call to undefined smarty function?

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[SOLVED] Installation error: Fatal Call to undefined smarty function?

Post by Kira27 »

This is a fresh install of 1.6.4

I already had 1.6.4 installed and it was working and I was working on the template creation, which was going fine.

Today, I got several errors with the menu and other files that it couldn't find "modules: simple_navigation.tpl" or something similar.

I worked with it a bit to no avail. Tried to go back to the install directory and the checksum test showed that nothing matched.

So, I tried a fresh install of 1.6.5 - that produced the smarty problems.

I went back to 1.6.4 since I know it worked before - it was truly a very easy install. Now it will not work. It checks to see if the templated dir is writable and then it just gives the error message (Fatal error: Call to undefined function smarty_core_write_file() in /[SERVERDIR]/lib/smarty/internals/core.write_compiled_resource.php on line 29).

Server Info:

Operating system Redhat Linux Fedora 10
Kernel and CPU Linux 2.6.27.25-170.2.72.fc10.i686 on i686
Apache version 2.2.11
mysql version 5.0.77
PHP Version 5.2.9

SERVER REBOOT. DUH! ;)
