Creating a Survey with 200 question

Post by musicscore »

Hey,  ;D

For a customer I need to add 3 (maybe 4) different surveys to her website.
Some survey's will contain almost 200 questions. This question will be textbased, radio-buttons, dropdown selections, etc.

Is there a module which I can use or software I can intergrade in cmsmadesimple ?  ???

Please help  :P

take a look at :
Quizzard
http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/quizzard

and  Quizzard reports
but the last one have no releaed versions - at least yet.

I have no idea how stable they are - so maybe try install and play with them to test it out...

Thanx ReneH
Maybe this is the solution but I upgrade that website recently to 1.6.4 and now when I install Quizzard is says : Maximum supported CMSMS version 1.6.

Can you help me or do you have any other advice ?

Honestly, cmsms does many things very well, but I've always found all but the simplest of surveys ultimately easier to do outside of cmsms. I usually use limesurvey (http://www.limesurvey.org/)

Not a knock on quizzard... not a knock on cmsms... I have just found surveys easier to do in an outside application, because usually the people who want surveys scope creep you to death.

No guarantees, but sometimes it's as simple as overriding the MaximumCMSVersion

try Quizzard.module.php, around line 115.  Change 1.6 to 1.6.4.

Sometimes this maximum is real and there are technical reasons why a mod won't work with higher versions.  Other times it's just a soft maximum.

Thanx to all of you  for your responce.
I did an override of the maximum cmsms version and quizzard worked. It is a great module but not what I'm looking for. Thanx anyway ReneH and jmcgin51 for you response.

I tryed limesurvey 1.8.5+ and this is just what I'm looking for.
I is a fully featured survey software, php/mysql based.
Had some problems configuring limesurvey but I think this software can be nice embedded in the website.
Thanks moorezilla for this hint.

Have you tried the DecisionMaker module?
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

Thanks!

Can you custom skins in limesurvey? take away the lime logo?

After a test of limesurvey, I discovered that the output of the survey is terrible. You can export to Excel and Word / Pdf  but that is (almost) plain text. With a lot of questions, the text is almost unreadeble. The text layout is very, very poor.
So I decided to make the survey with formbuilder (yes, a real CMSMS module) and build the output template myself (still working on it.) I used also formbrowser. Again I discovered that CMSMS and his modules is a champion.

So, Lucaz, I cannot help you with limesurvey. Sorry  :(

Try "Form Tools" (i use v1.4.5). Couple of months ago i have finished 2 surveys 95 questions in each.
You will have to install it to separate folder as another website, create form with dreamweaver and the rest will be done for you.
