FormBuilder Send To Email dependant on a field in the form [solved]

Post by cd163601 »

I have just started using CMS version: 1.6.3 with FormBuilder: 0.5.11

I am using the standard supplied contact form with the addition of a single "Reason for contact" pull-down field.

Rather than just emailing to 1 person, can I change the Send To Emal Address based on what "Reason" the user picks from the pull-down field?

Many thanks
Colin Davis

Hi there,

I'm using FormBuilder 0.5.11 with CMSMS 1.6.3.

Form data is being e-mailed to a particular staff person based on subject (using "Email results based on pulldown") - this is working great.

I'd like to have the e-mail generated come from the e-mail address supplied by the user (using "Email 'From Address' Field"). This would make it easier for staff to reply to the user, rather than copying and pasting the e-mail address submitted by the user.

However, the "Email results based on pulldown" field requires that I specify a static "'From address' for email' - this e-mail address is always used in the from field. I'm not allowed to leave it blank, and trying to put the field id (such as {$fld_7}) results in the error ""{$fld_7}" does not appear to be a valid email address!"

I see where "Email results based on pulldown" allows the subject to be overridden by a 'Email "Subject" Field' - is there any way to allow the from address to be overridden by an 'Email "From Address" Field'?

Thanks!
Jon

That's brilliant, thank you.  Don't you wish they were all that easy.
