Therefore I will bet that you've mixed up the files somehow.
Do a system verification with the appropriate checksum file.
(SOLVED) strange issue with restore and update to 1.6.1

Re: strange issue with restore and update to 1.6.1
Update: Seems like a complete wipe of the CMS 1.5.x files and reinstall fixed a lot. I do, however, now have a new problem. I have installed 1.5.2 from scratch (since that is the version that initially corresponds to the last DB mysql backup I made). When I reimported the database, I had to go in and upgrade some module in the admin section backend.
Unfortunately, three of the modules, customcontent, frontendusers, and uploads are listed as 'incompatible' in the module manager.
I'm assuming that I need to find earlier versions of these modules in the CMS Made Simple Forge?
I (luckily) was smart enough to capture the module configs at the time my whole server issue occurred. What I last had for these modules was:
Uploads - 1.3.0
FrontEndUsers - 1.5.3
SelfRegistration - 1.2.1
Am I correct in assuming I should find and manually install these older versions?

If they are older then the ones you have now, yes...
Or find in them the minimum cmsms version call and change that

Thanks to all involved! I seem be 95% back up now. Calguy's info on the RemoveProperty() info led me to realize that I needed to wipe the CMS files completely off my HD, reinstall a full version of 1.5.2 on my server, and *then* import my DB backup for the site.
*whew*
It was a ghastly server crash - so the fact that I was able to get CMSMS back up on after installing a different OS version, an updated version of PHP (php5), etc. on my linux box is a real testament to how great this product is and how wonderful all the folks on this forum are.
Thank You!!!!
