navigation disappeared ! - I swear i did my research before

Hey everybody,

I am using CMS 1.4.1 and was just backing my my site (downloading from FTP) where all of a sudden, my navigation is not showing in the front end, now i swear i did ALOT of research beforehand but found that most people talked about file permissions, which I made sure i had to 777, but still no navigation. I see it all in my admin, and they are all active, but nothing on my website

Second, versions older than 1.6 (we might be kind and give you 1.5.4) are no longer supported.

No error messages on page, are you sure you didn't delete something during backup?...

im sure, i put my old backup back, everything looks perfect....except the navigation

We had this problem as well.  I turned out that some of the pages all got stuck under some strange default page.  We still don't have a Default Page that we can modify, but we've got another thread on that.  Our menus disappeared and we had to go back into the templates and tell the menu to start at a differnet number, say 2.11 instead of 2.12.  That may not make sense to you, but hopefully it does and fixes your problem.

Weird page numbers can sometimes be fixed by using the Reorder Pages link, sometimes with out having to reorder them just open it and submit it...

You put all the folders/files in the root that you had for it when it worked good, then did a DB import of the backup taken when it all worked and you still have no menu and no errors in front end or back end, no yellow ! or red X in system info page, and nothing in your error log in root?...

Please use System Info, system checksum, tell us about your http error log, tell us about what you have tried so far from the above suggestions (page reordering...) and so.
