upgraded to 1.6 and all pages and templates were lost

i upgraded to 1.6 form the previous version 5.3 i think

and my site was lost, before i do a server restore id like to know if there is something im missing

in the past all upgrades have left my site in tact so this was a bit of a shock to me

my images are still in the image manager but my css,templates,bmenu, etc are all gone

any insight as what best to do and if i do a server restore how would i best go about the upgrade to 1.6 while retaining my site?

Sounds like you did /install instead of /install/upgrade.php, if you have all the existing files from 1.5.3 and the DB from that install I would reimport the old DB and upload all the 1.5.3 files/folders back to site and run upgrade to down grade to 1.5.3 then try again...
