Hi all.
I just wanted to post a quick message to check that CMSMS is right for what I require.
Basically, a client already has a website made in php and html. He is moving it to my server and I have said that I will find him a cms so that he can use it to just update the text that already exists on his various pages.
So I don't need a new design or anything like that, I just need the capability of being able to set him up as a user, and so that he can choose the page he wants to edit, and just edit it in a sort of WYSIWYG format, press save, and it updates the page.
Is it possible with this script?
Many thanks in advance,
Craig
Is this right for my requirements?
Re: Is this right for my requirements?
CMSMS should be perfect for you, as long as your server supports MySQL databases (other possibilities exist, but MySQL is preferred).

Hi there.
And thank you for the quick reply.
Yes my server supports MySQL databases no problem.
So I will be able to use this and link to my existing files without any redesign or anything?

check out the documentation and the how-tos on converting an existing HTML site to CMSMS
wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/How_to#How_to_motorize_your_old_plain_html_static_site_with_CMS_Made_Simple
You will need to take your existing page structure and convert it to a CMSMS template. Then take your existing CSS and copy it into one or more CMSMS stylesheets. And finally, copy each page's content from your existing site into a CMSMS page.
If you have a very large site, this initial conversion (content porting) will take some time. Smaller sites can be done very quickly.
