Getting CMSMS to work on XAMPP laptop install

Post by danno74 »

Greetings,

I am trying to get an install of CMSMS to work on an XAMPP install on a Dell Laptop for an offline presentation of our website. The CMSMS version is 1.5.4 Carolina. The XAMPP install is 1.5.1 and includes Apache 2.2, PHP 5.1.1 and MySQL 5.0.18.

I changed the config.php file to reflect the correct settings for using the MySQL import from the web server. It gives me this output for index.php:
string(106) "Smarty error: [in template:21 line 5]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'sitename' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(103) "Smarty error: [in template:21 line 5]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'title' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(106) "Smarty error: [in template:21 line 6]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'metadata' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(108) "Smarty error: [in template:21 line 7]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'stylesheet' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(105) "Smarty error: [in template:21 line 17]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'search' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(106) "Smarty error: [in template:21 line 36]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'content' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)"
I'm not that familiar with CMSMS. I looked at the core.load_plugins.php, and also looked at the file 'htdocs/tmp/templates_c/%%09^098^09882797%%template%3A21.inc' since it was the only file that included "template:21" in a search of the htdocs dir. I cannot find where it is pulling the settings from for sitename, title, metadata, stylesheet, search, or content. I'm sure this is something simple and I'm digging more than I have to.

Any suggestions? Thanks so much for your assistance.

it appears that those plugins are not being properly processed.  Confirm that they exist in your /plugins directory.  FYI, the core.load_plugins.php file is in \lib\smarty\internals

I have done it before several times, no problems. Check bottom of http://mkrd.info/faq-q-a.html my page on XAMPP installation. If you are up to it, I can walk you step by step, but timely responses will be needed.

I do know where the core.load file is (thanks though  ;D) and I looked it over and I could not find anything referring to a file besides the template 21 file I mentioned.

I checked the apache log file per a colleagues advice, and found the following entry:
[Thu Jul 16 08:41:13 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: C:/xampplite/htdocs/spipe
[Thu Jul 16 08:41:13 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] no acceptable variant: C:/xampplite/apache/error/HTTP_NOT_FOUND.html.var
Not sure what spipe refers to either....

Re: Getting CMSMS to work on XAMPP laptop install SOLVED FIXED

Post by anshumaan »

Hi,

I was facing the similar problem and I noticed that this only happens when we migrate the site.

Hence has to be configuration.

I checked the config.php file on the root level and found it has a site's url and folder path, which needs also to be changed once site is migrated, as soon as I made the changes, this issue got resolved.

Thanx

It looks to me like you have the root folders in \htdocs\  when you should be putting in in a folder in \htdocs\ like \htdocs\cmsms or whatever you want to call it...

At least that's how I do it...

No, htdocs is the "/" directory of the server. You might, however, move all of the default files already there to a backup directory like /old. (Those default files do not need to be there)
