I had a question concerning embedding the CMS elements into a pre-existing flash as3 site that I designed. I really hope that it's possible because I got CMSmadesimple installed with no problem on my server and love it to death!
I have several pages on the site that I'd like to be made editable through this system. Is it possible? If so is there a direction I can start following? If not should I just forget it?
Thank you for any time and consideration in this matter.

Hi DF,
If I understand correctly, I have to wonder if the answer is, instead of "embedding the CMS elements into a pre-existing flash", maybe try the opposite and embed pre-existing flash in to CMS ?

I could do that if it's an easier path...
My goal is to have the client be able to edit her content to her website.

Is there a direction I could possibly get to make this flash content site work in Cmsmadeeasy?
Thanks!

Hmm, I suppose you could theme CMSms to look like the Flash site and then have specific links in Flash directed to the CMSms pages.
Though, looking at the existing site I have to wonder if Flash is even required as it doesn't seem to be leveraged much.
Maybe just theme CMSms to look like the Flash design and then run the entire site off CMSms and dump Flash altogether !?
From a Search Engine Optimization point of view, using CMSms instead of Flash would probably be the preferred route.
Then your client could edit/update the entire site themselves!
Here's a quick & dirty example of the site look adapted to CMSms:

Hope that helps !?

That's great looking! Thanks for that!
I've been looking into trying to get the XML of the CMS to be pulled in by the swf.
The client wants animations and such... that's the only thing hobbling me with this... I plan to use this CMS to make future sites entirely in the system...

Unfortunately I don't know much about trying to get the XML of the CMS to be pulled in by the swf.
But, with the CMSms framework themed you could always put the Flash animation in CMSms, no?

On second thought... I am going to use this system as a framework... now I just need to be able to theme out a site template for the client.
Is it difficult to have a swf play on the main page when the user enters and have an swf nav bar with rollover states and sound?
Thank you for helping me with this... it makes life a million times easier!

SWF on the main page should not be a problem...SWF nav bar probably wouldn't be that difficult either and would be much easier if the links are hard coded instead of relying on CMSms.

This system is all coming into place! Thank you for your advice... So far so good.
Update... I'm trying to make a navigation bar with rollovers... any advice? The online documentation that I read up on isn't working correctly.
Thanks for your time!

I would normally use CSS Menu within CMSms:

Hope that helps !?
