[SOLVED] Parse error on new CMSMS 1.6 install [/SOLVED]

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[SOLVED] Parse error on new CMSMS 1.6 install [/SOLVED]

Post by ABU »

Hey gang. Installing the new CMSMS 1.6 Version. The install went great, but while trying to delete the preexisting pages, within the pages section of the admin, i receive this error.

"Parse error: parse error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /home/content/n/u/g/nugentap/html/admin/multicontent.php on line 48"

Any ideas where to start?
Thanks in advance

Hey Alby, so this is a known bug? I searched, but couldnt find anything on it. It appears to happen when I try to make the pages inactive as well.

ABU,

this issue is known, related to PHP4. It is fixed in SVN.

RonnyK,

Thanks for the info. Any chance you have any time to explain how to get the fix from the SVN? Or is it best to wait for the 1.6.1 release? Any other get around advice would be great and much appreciated. I'm sure you guys have enough on your plate.

Thanks in advance.

Note:

I am using Godaddy as my hosting. I was running php4x, because some reason Godaddy didnt upgrade my PHP. There is a work around that seemed to work for me. If you go to your hosting account, then click on settings then file extension. There should be two predefined extensions. .PHP and .PHP5. The .php is set to use php4, but if you set it to use php5, so both extensions use php5 then you should be all good. Not sure how other hosts handle this, but this worked for me.

Another work around, is to delete the pages individually, not by the check mark, but by the trashcan icon. This also worked.

Good luck! Thanks.
